Young Marley Fulco, rider no. 60, was the lucky winner of the Boardman Bike raffle prize. The thanks of the Wirral Bikeathon go to Chris Boardman for kindly donating a Boardman Bike once again this year.
This year’s Bikeathon took place on Sunday 11th June 2017. It was the 19th Wirral Bikeathon and before the 2017 Bikeathon the event had raised £880,000 with £45,000 pledged on 11 June giving a new total of £925,000. All the funds raised go to the charity 'Bloodwise'. Bloodwise is the new name for the charity Leukeamia and Lymphoma Research.
The Wirral Bikeathon is a 14 or 28 mile ride around the Wirral. Arrowe Country Park is the start, mid-point and finish area. At the 2017 event, riders, their families and friends enjoyed live music from the Peninsula Jazzmen and Radio City were also present. Congratulations also go to Tracey Jump, rider no. 297, won the one month's free family membership of Total Fitness gym.
Bikes and Boards (West Kirby), The Bike Shop (Moreton) and K-Cycles of Eastham continue to support us by providing free bike repair services in the park and at Dovepoint on the prom in Meols on the day of the ride. See below for the many other organizations who we also wish to thank profusely for their valuable support.
